The Manufacturing Test Plug-in supports incorporating VNA software into automated manufacturing process:
  • Streamline production test processes.
  • Ensure consistency of test process across multiple operators and workstations.
  • Easily create and manage pass/fail limits across multiple workstations. Pass/fail limits and instrument configuration are stored in a human-readable plaintext specifications file, which can be maintained by an authorized test engineer.
  • Organize test results for subsequent retrieval and analysis.
  • Can adapt to any specific production test process and QMS requirements.

This demo is done using the S5243 2-port 44 GHz Compact VNA. The Automatic Fixture Removal (AFR) VNA software plug-in enables the measurement of a wide range of components through comprehensive methods tailored to specific fixture properties. This demo will provide a feel for the intuitive AFR software, which moves the calibration plane towards hard to access DUTs and guides the de-embedding process using either time-gating, filtering, or bisect methods. These methods provide the user with better measurement accuracy and reliability based on the components being tested. The AFR software plug-in is easy to use and is compatible with all CMT Cobalt series VNAs and Compact series two-port, two-path VNAs.

SN5090-8 Multiport VNA is a competitively priced, versatile multiport solution with excellent dynamic range and measurement speed. There are additional models available in 6-, 10-, 12-, 14-, and 16-port configurations.

SN5090 VNAs are an organic extension of the Compact VNA family, enabling the full complexity of VNA measurements, a streamlined calibration process, and reduced test times. The SN5090 hardware can fit a 19” rack and utilizes robust, durable port connectors with ergonomic positioning for simplified cable connection. SN5090 features CMT’s next-generation software that delivers an intuitive and contemporary user interface compatible with both Linux and Windows OS.

S5180B 18 GHz VNA with included pulsing capabilities will be used in this demo. The performance and capabilities of the S5180B 2-port Compact VNA will be highlighted as it is used to perform and analyze the measurements of a bandpass filter. Plexsa is a Hungary based company specializing in broadband RF multiplexers and filters. At EuMW 2023, CMT and Plexsa are partnering to display some of the Plexsa filters and multiplexers with the S5243 Compact VNA from CMT. 

For a second year, CMT and Swissto12 are preparing a joint demonstration. The Material Characterization Kit (MCK) will be shown with CMT’s CobaltFx Frequency Extension System. You can learn more about the integration here
