In 2011, Copper Mountain Technologies launched the industry’s first metrology-grade USB VNA. This gave users access to affordable and portable instrumentation without sacrificing performance. Since then, our focus has been empowering engineers with flexible VNA solutions backed by comprehensive support from an expert team of applications engineers.

Over the past decade, CMT’s product line has expanded to include over 30 instruments and application specific solutions for frequency ranges up to 110 GHz, including options for direct receiver access, frequency extension, easy system integration, and software compatibility for both Windows and Linux OS. As our product offerings have evolved, our commitment to customer support remains unchanged. Case Studies

UBT’s MammoWave® addresses the need for better breast cancer screening techniques, providing a safer and cost-effective alternative as a complementary imaging modality to mammograms. Copper Mountain Technologies’ 2-port C1209 9 GHz VNA is at the core of the MammoWave® system. The data from C1209 measurements, mainly complex S21 measurement, is processed through UBT’s dedicated software, helping to detect cancer cells.

It can be a challenge to find affordable test equipment capable of operating in the low frequency range required for Butterfly Network’s ultrasound probe. Copper Mountain Technologies’ PXIe-S5090 2-Port 9 GHz Analyzer has provided improved speed and performance to match their unique application needs. Comprehensive support from CMT’s expert applications engineers has helped optimize VNA performance and gave Butterfly Network the results they were looking for.

Sonomatic performs a wide array of non-destructive tests on non-metallic materials such as fiberglass and polyethylene piping. These materials are used for gas, water, fracking, and additional areas where conventional testing techniques are inadequate. Featuring a frequency range of 85 MHz to 14 GHz and a measurement speed of 200 µs, the performance of Copper Mountain Technologies’ R140 1-Port VNA, coupled with its small size, make it the perfect instrument to address Sonomatic’s unique needs.

When Verus Research purchased Copper Mountain Technologies’ R60 1-Port 6 GHz analyzer for R&D applications to meet their customer’s requirements they received more than just a VNA. Support from CMT’s applications engineers enhanced the user experience and helped Verus Research optimize their measurements. Metrology-grade VNA performance and support from expert engineers working as an extension of the team enabled Verus Research to achieve their goals.
