What is a Smith Chart?
The Smith chart is a useful graphical tool to convert between impedances and reflection coefficients. It may also be used to solve impedance-matching problems. It can be thought of as a polar reflection coefficient chart with overlaid impedance curves.
In this video, Brian explains shows the use of a Smith chart, as well as goes through the equations used to understand and build a Smith chart. We cover reflection coefficients, building the chart, impedance matching, and transmission line matching.
