PE0312-75 12-Port Port Extender for 75 Ohm VNAs
The PE0312-75 Port Extender (or 12-Port 75 Ohm Switch) is able to connect to CMT’s SC7540 75 Ohm VNA to make multiport measurements in 75 Ohm systems. For users needing to measure 75 Ohm splitters with or without gain, insertion loss and isolation of a coaxial switch, or six simultaneous 2-port measurements in a production environment, a PE0312-75 is the perfect solution.
The 12-Port PE0312-75 Port Extender has a frequency range from 3 MHz to 3 GHz and has a switching time of 1 ms typ. Each PE0312-75 purchase will include the hardware, VNA mounting frame suitable for a SC7540 VNA, and two 1-foot N-Type Male interconnect cables.
The VNA is sold separately from the PE0312-75. The ideal VNA pairing for this solution is CMT’s SC7540 but it is compatible with other CMT VNAs —with the use of 50 to 75 Ohm adapters or matching pads.
The PE0312-75 12-port Switch, or Port Extender, simplifies multi-device RF testing by enabling seamless switching between DUTs in 75 Ohm environments. Ideal for characterizing broadband amplifiers and RF filters (like bandpass, notch, and SAW filters) the unit allows quick gain and return loss measurements in parallel test setups, significantly improving throughput and repeatability.
For cable TV and broadband applications, the PE0312-75 provides a more accurate and efficient solution for testing coaxial components without the need for 50-to-75 Ohm impedance conversion. Use it to measure insertion loss, return loss, and port-to-port isolation of coaxial splitters, broadband modems, and set-top boxes.
The extender is also well-suited for DOCSIS system testing, supporting impedance matching and signal reflection measurements on RF input/output ports. It enables reliable verification of coaxial cable and connector performance, including distance-to-fault (DTF), insertion loss, and return loss.
In production environments, the PE0312-75 can be integrated into automated test stations to perform fast pass/fail checks, streamlining manufacturing and quality assurance workflows.
The PE0312-75 Switch Matrix is designed to be used as a port expander when working with a VNA operating at a 75 Ohm impedance. It enables expansion up to 12 ports, allowing for efficient multi-port testing. Calibration and measurement processes are managed directly through the main VNA application.
