VNA Direct Receiver Access - What is it?

VNA with DRA Screenshot

Some Vector Network Analyzers allow Direct Receiver Access. A VNA with this feature will usually be festooned with “loop” connections on the front panel which allow the user to directly access the receivers and bypass the directional bridge. This is useful if one needs the directional measurement to be made in the middle of a signal chain such as between a pre-amplifier and a power amplifier.
