SCPI Command
SYSTem:FIFO[:STATe] {OFF|ON|0|1}
SYSTem:FIFO[:STATe]?
Turns the FIFO buffer function ON/OFF. The function writes measurement data from a sequence of identical sweeps into a FIFO buffer by external trigger. The function is capable of maintaining a stable period of the external trigger, which is no less than the width of one sweep. One full sweep is a unit of reading/writing data in the FIFO buffer. When the function is enabled, a FIFO buffer is placed in the PC RAM, and scanning data recording begins. Data can be read from the buffer immediately after the start of writing to the FIFO, which allows for almost endless reading. When the function is disabled, the FIFO buffer is deleted, and data cannot be read from it. However, the overflow flag and data about missed triggers are available for reading after the function is turned off. The FIFO buffer function has the following features: •the function is only compatible with the Cobalt series, S5180B, and S5243 •the number of measurement points must be less than 3000 •display refresh is disabled when the function is running •only one channel should be open •program (BUS) and manual trigger are not available •SCPI commands that change analyzer settings should not be issued after the function is turned on; otherwise, the function is automatically turned off |
